Olpe rolls through Lyndon 70-12 on Zone Game of the Week Friday

The Olpe Eagles struck first, struck fast and struck often in a dominant 70-12 win over the Lyon Tigers on Friday night.

Olpe got off to a quick start scoring each time and added two pick-sixes in the first half to take a 49-0 lead in the locker room. In the second half, Olpe continued the offensive pressure with a 60-yard touchdown from junior Garrett Cole in the first snap of the third quarter.

The Eagles added two more points to their total in the second half of play.

Lyndon didn’t come out quietly as they found the end zone twice in the second half thanks to a 70-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Darian Massey to compatriot Ethan Ramey and a six-pick to the end of the fourth.

Olpe was led offensively by senior quarterback Damon Redeker with 42 rushing yards and one touchdown and 118 passing yards with three touchdowns. Redeker said Friday night’s win was a total team effort.

Olpe head coach Chris Schmidt says it’s a good win, but they can’t make it a highlight.

With the win, Olpe now improves to 3-0 on the season while Lyndon drops to 1-2.
